James Handy, a seasoned American actor celebrated for his memorable supporting roles across six decades of film and television, has been tragically killed in a stabbing attack at his Los Angeles residence. He was 81 years old.
What Happened
Authorities discovered Handy unconscious in the front yard of his Tarzana, California home on Wednesday, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. Emergency responders were dispatched after a 911 caller made the chilling statement: "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin."
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Michael Gledhill, 44, has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Gledhill is the son of Handy's girlfriend and had been living at the same residence. Shortly after the incident, Gledhill reportedly approached nearby responding officers and identified himself as the individual they were seeking.
Following his arrest, Gledhill was transported to Van Nuys Jail and formally booked on one count of murder. His bail has been set at $2 million. The LAPD stated that detectives consider this an isolated incident and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
